Our history
Nestled in the heart of Burgundy, in Gevrey Chambertin, our wine estate was founded by Patrick Maroiller in 1984.
At that time, Patrick was employed at the « Damoy estate » in Gevrey Chambertin.
Recognizing his talents as a passionate winemaker, his father-in-law decided to purchase a 23-square-metre vineyard called « Marsannay Aux Grands Bandeaux », entrusting the sharecropping to Patrick.
While continuing his work at the «Damoy Estate », Patrick pursued his dream of producing his wine under his own brand using traditionnal and ancestral winemaking techniques.
In 1992, Patrick became the manager of the vineyard at « Richard estate » in Gevrey Chambertin.
In 2001, he was at the forefront of organic viticulture, leading the organic conversion at this winery.
In 2005, Patrick expanded his production acquiring a-18-square-metre plot as a tenant in the hamlet of « Marsannay au Potey “.
Driven by his personal beliefs, Patrick embraced organic farming methods in his vineyards
In 2012, he ventured into wine service while traditionally continuing his passion for winemaking.
After Patrick’s retirement, his son, Stéphane, sharing his father’s respect for terroir, took the family wine estate over preserving the remarkable expertise passed down by Patrick.
As a tribute to his father’s work, Stéphane created the brand
« Patrick Maroiller & Fils »with the motto :
« le terroir pour expression », which means: « the terroir for expression ».
